Verizon Already Screwing Up DROID, Charging Extra for Exchange Access

Of course it wouldn’t be long until Verizon jumped in and ruined things with the new Motorola DROID. Infoworld is reporting that Verizon will be charging an extra $15 to anyone using Exchange Access. That means on top of the $30 a month for data, you’ll have to pay for a feature that comes free with Google Android Software.

This has been the case since all PDA’s, Blackberry’s and now Droid phones. Nothing has changed, these have been the rates for a long time. It’s the exchange servers fault for charging more not the cell company providing the service. Sorry to disappoint, but if a company is going to get charged extra for a service the customer wants to use, then the customer is going to get charge to use it. This is our capitalistic society at it’s intended to be. I just wanted to clarify this for anyone who thinks that Verizon is the evil one, when in fact it’s their employer that charges them extra not Verizon. I would use it for personal use anyway, who cares about work when your at home with your family anyways. :)

my 2 cents

Dizzler :)

Looks like the $15 is only for business accounts. It does not apply to personal accounts. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2355249,00.asp

This is not at all true… I have a DROID with an exchange account, and can confirm that the data is $29.99. From what I understand, the additional $15 only applies to Blackberry devices.
